PhD Forum

Call For Participation

The PATMOS 2017’s Ph.D. Forum is a poster session aimed at the exchange of ideas and experiences of Ph.D. students from different parts of the world. Elected Ph.D. students have an opportunity to discuss their thesis and research work with specialists within the low power consumption, circuit design, optimization, simulation and modeling as well as high performance communities. This offers a good opportunity for students to receive valuable feedback and gain exposure in the job market. Furthermore, this forum also provides a great chance for industry officials and heads of research units to meet junior researchers, giving an avenue for incorporating the latest research developments into their companies and their institutes.

Eligibility: The author must have completed at least one year of a Ph.D. program.

Presentation: Posters will be introduced in the Ph.D. Forum oral Session (two-minute time slot, one slide) and next presented in a full one-hour Poster Session.

Publication: Accepted posters will be given two pages in the proceedings (this has to be confirmed by IEEE).

Best Ph.D. Forum Poster Award: The Ph.D. forum selection committee will review all presented posters and recommend one poster for the Best Ph.D. Forum Poster Award. We will have awards for second and third places as well.

Grants for Ph.D. Students: PATMOS 2017 will finance a limited number of registration grants for Ph.D. students. In principle these grants are restricted to support students who cannot be fully supported by their institutions. This rule gives preference to students being enrolled in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia (except Israel, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and China).

How to Apply:
Submit a two page extended abstract of the dissertation in pdf IEEE format. Send submissions to gsirak@ee.duth.gr before 26th of June 2017.
